There have been several incidents where climate protesters have glued themselves to the frames of famous paintings. This was to highlight the ongoing future commitment of goverments to new fossil fuel and oil projects, in the face of a climate crisis. We talk about this and the artworks involved.

The Hay Wain at the National Gallery

The Hay Wain, was painted by John Constable in 1821. It picture of a Hay cart crossing a shallow part of the River Stour in Flatford Suffolk. It is cloud summers day, the sunshine illuminates the green trees.
