The Circleville Letters mystery has captivated true crime enthusiasts for decades. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, residents of the small town of Circleville, Ohio, began receiving a series of threatening letters that were both vicious and strangely personal.
The letters, signed by an anonymous writer who referred to themselves as "The Circleville Writer," targeted various individuals and were known for their detailed knowledge of the recipients' private lives.
The situation escalated when a local school bus driver named Mary Gillespie received a letter that accused her of having an affair with the superintendent of schools.
