After Eight Show - New Music You Just Don't Hear Anywhere Else!

A festival of new music again this week. With, perhaps, a bit of an electronic / nu jazz feel about it.
This week, our ALBUM OF THE WEEK is 'somewhere' by Sun June. Sun June is an American indie pop band from Austin, Texas.
"Somewhere showcases a gentle maturation of Sun June's sound, a second record full of quiet revelation, eleven songs that bristle with love and longing. It finds a band at the height of their collective potency, able to transport the listener into a fascinating new landscape, one that lies somewhere between the town and the city, between the head and the heart, neither here nor there, but certainly somewhere."

In our LUVVA COVER feature, we will be playing a cover of a Beatles standard by a bedroom pop duo, Memoryhouse. They are from Toronto and have released an EP of Beatles covers called 'Mania'.
"Mania is a lush and bold exploration of The Beatles that reflects the chaos and longing of the year - and our desperate need to cling to whatever joy we can find. It has that trademark Memoryhouse feeling of melancholy, taking that familiar Beatles classic and giving it a whole new spin, and meaning along the way."
