Damon Parker, 4x High School State Championship winning coach for men and woman’s wrestling, joins Glenn on the Field for the next edition of the Field Goals Spotlight. Parker shares his personal story of being a 2x state wrestling champion, what led him to take over the Washburn Rural High School men and woman’s wrestling program, and the methods and techniques he used to turn them into a 4x national powerhouse. Damon opens up about facing the biggest challenge of his life, battling depression and his personal struggles with mental health, and what he personally did to overcome those challenges to maintain his peace during a tumultuous time. Damon also shares what led him to step away from High School coaching at the height of his coaching career to become a motivational speaker and create the Jones Project, a non-profit organization that helps athletes and High School students overcome their bouts with mental health and depression.
