The Right Time with Bomani Jones

Bomani Jones is joined by former NFL lineman Andrew Whitworth, co-host of the Fitz & Whit podcast with Ryan Fitzpatrick, to discuss all things football. But first, Bomani starts the show by asking Whit about his podcast with Fitz and whether or not he’s enjoying his new life on TV every week. (1:30) Then Bomani transitions to the 2001 LSU team which somehow has a ton of players from that roster currently on TV, including head coach Nick Saban. (5:40) After hearing some great Nick Saban stories from Whit, Bomani asks him what the biggest difference is from playing college football back then to now. Whit explains that the NIL money is the big one and why it’s hard for him to even give advice to younger players in college football now, because it’s so different from when he played. (10:55) From there Bomani brings up the Los Angeles Rams to discuss their season to date and why they both think the Rams can make a sneaky push into the postseason. (18:17) Then following the break, they discuss another one of Whit’s former teams, the Cincinnati Bengals. Whit shares his love of Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, but also explains some of the big problems they had this season. (29:04) And finally, the guys talk about the renaissance of throwback wide receivers, Whit’s thoughts on the Lions and Bills, and why the Steelers this season might be the real deal. (36:40)
