References:
15.44 - Martha mentioned the hymn 'Crown him with Many Crowns' (Matthew Bridges, 1851). Here is verse 1:
"Crown him with many crowns,
the Lamb upon his throne.
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns
all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing
of him who died for thee,
and hail him as thy matchless king
through all eternity."
16.44 - Ali quoted from the final hymn from the Queen's state funeral. Love Divine, All Loves Excelling (Charles Westley, 1747):
"Finish, then, thy new creation;
true and spotless let us be.
Let us see thy great salvation
perfectly restored in thee.
Changed from glory into glory,
till in heav’n we take our place,
till we cast our crowns before thee,
lost in wonder, love and praise."
17.32 - We alluded to a verse from the Bible - Revelation 4:10 - where we get a picture of heaven, at the end of time, with people (specifically the symbolic '24 elders'), laying their crowns at Jesus' throne. This picture comes out in the song 'Love Divine', which we quoted, and which the Queen herself chose for her funeral.
