Wait to be hungry

If you’ve been listening to me for a while, you know that losing weight follows stopping overeating. And that follows learning to eat like a natural eater. So why is it easier to wait to be hungry than it is to stop eating when you get that ‘enough’ signal? This is a helpful concept for you to learn, and that’s what we’ll cover in this coaching episode today.

In order to lose weight, you need to stop eating overeating, which means not eating more than your body needs.

To break it down even further, you don’t eat when you aren’t hungry, and you stop when your body has had enough. Not your mind! Because your mind will always want more of things that taste good to you.

Now, stopping when your body has had enough is probably something that you are NOT doing…. if you are struggling with your weight, then you are either starting to eat before you have physical hunger, OR you are continuing to eat after your body has had enough. OR maybe you are doing a combination of both.

Today we’re going to talk about what causes each reason for overeating AND why it’s usually harder to conquer stopping at enough than it is to wait for hunger to begin.

Your goal is to copy what people who don’t have extra weight do.
And What do they do? They eat like natural eaters.

Natural eaters are not dieters, trying to be good. They are simply experts in listening to their body’s signals.

What does this mean in real life? It means they eat when their stomachs feel empty and they stop as they approach full, but rarely uncomfortably full.
They don’t worry so much about whether the clock says it’s time to eat, they don’t try to wait extra-long to eat because they are trying to lose weight, and they don’t eat way before they are hungry out of fear of getting hungry.

When they eat like this, there is no drama, they just wait for that gentle empty sensation as their physical cue, and that’s when they start thinking about getting some food in. It’s never an emergency.

This is possible for you. Join me today and learn how you can stop eating at enough as easily as you might wait to be hungry to start eating.
