Offshore finfish farming is the mass cultivation of finfish in marine waters, in underwater or floating net pens, pods, and cages. Offshore finfish farms are factory farms that harm public health, the environment, and local communities and economies that rely on the ocean and its resources. Don’t Cage Our Oceans are a coalition of diverse organizations working together to stop the development of offshore finfish farming in the United States through federal law, policies, and coalition building. Rewind to November 2014 and Josh Minogue produced a win for the ages. He upset the field to claim victory at the Coolangatta Gold – the most gruelling event on the surf sport calendar. Yet his success at Coolangatta marked the end of an era for the now 31-year-old, who had always intended for that race to be his swansong. He made the switch to amateur triathlon in 2015, and the challenge of struggling through initial events had him hooked. This month, the world's fastest triathletes will converge at the Gold Coast for the ITU Triathlon Age Group World Championships. The event will feature elites for the ITU Grand Final, but also amateur athletes who have earned qualification to race over both sprint and standard distance events. Australia has produced one of the fastest teams ever assembled, with athletes keen to race on home soil. Among those who will be on the start line is 43-year-old Nathan Fitzakerley. The former Toowoomba resident now based on the Sunshine Coast earned qualification in both the sprint and standard distance events in the 40-44 age group. But it's not the first time Fitzy has worn the green and gold. He has been on the world stage at the Ironman world championship three times, but it was more than 10 years ago he first earned Australian selection over the short distance.…
