Last summer, something monumental happened. One of Uncuffed's founding producers, Greg Eskridge, came home after more than 30 years in prison. In this episode we’ll bring you back to that emotional day last summer when he walked out of the San Quentin gates, free at last. Our work in prisons is supported by the California Arts Council, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, independent foundations, and donations from listeners like you. I have the most Scandinavian name for looking not even the slightest Scandinavian. I reside in the beautiful state of Oregon with my family and am currently working on my first memoir. I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelors in English Literature, and from Portland State University with a Masters in Communication. I have a passion for education, writing, and reading. My purpose with this podcast is to discuss things that should be talked about in the parenting world. There is no shame here.

×I am definitely addicted to social media. So, how do I make sure I raise a child who won't become as addicted as me if the social media and online presence keep coming up with new apps? This week I talk about my addiction and how I'm worried about how it will destroy my daughters life the way it's already destroyed mine.…
Why can't we talk about racism? On this episode, I tell my story about personal experiences with race and about Robin DiAngelo's book "White Fragility: Why it's so Hard for White People to Talk About Racism." Racism is not new and I doubt it will ever go away. So take a listen to how my views on race before I became a mom has changed since becoming a mom.…
This week I talk about the working mom, the working woman, and the working person of color. How do women get ahead in the work place? What do we do when an advancement is taken away from us after having been given? What’s it feel like when you watch your husband climb the career ladder but you having to take the backseat for a short period of time? I also talk about Kim Brooks’ opinion piece in the New York Times and how it feels to live in fear even though we, as parents, are making what we feel is the best decision for us and our kids?…
Welcome to a my podcast, There Are No Instructions: How we f*** things up or not with no instructions. Join me weekly, starting July 31st, where I plan on diving into some topics parents may be afraid to talk about. Like, to breastfeed or not to breastfeed; how do current events sway our opinions as parents; what kind of philosophies did we have before becoming parents; becoming a parent in a sea of single or childless friends. None of this is easy, so why do it alone?…
