Reigning FIFA World Cup holders France took one step closer to retaining their world champions crown as they edged out England in a thrilling quarter-final clash. After enjoying the best of the first-half, the French side had to weather the storm as England dominated after the interval, but eventually did enough to win the game through Olivier Giroud's header. Harry Kane, who had earlier scored a penalty to draw England level and also equal Wayne Rooney's record goal tally for the Three Lions, also blazed another spot-kick over the bar as France eventually won the game to progress to the semi-final. Chris Loxston and Elliott Stonell from FIFA are joined by Jürgen Klinsmann, Cha Du-Ri and Pascal Zuberbühler to talk this one through. From being tournament underdogs at the start of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Morocco team are now just one game away from creating even more history. Their victory means it looks like the end of the road for Cristiano Ronaldo at FIFA World Cups with the Portuguese star, at 37, probably playing his last game for his country. Lisa Fallon discusses this game with Alberto Zaccheroni and Sunday Oliseh. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…

Breaking this down are Lisa Fallon and Chris Loxston from FIFA. They are joined by Sunday Oliseh and Alberto Zaccheroni. On Lionel Messi's 1,000th career game, Lionel Messi did Lionel Messi things. The diminutive superstar gave Argentina the springboard they needed to defeat Australia, opening the scoring after 35 minites when it seemed the Socceroos' game plan was working to perfection. There was only going to be one winner from that point and so it proved as Argentina marched into a FIFA World Cup quarter-final clash with the Netherlands. Lisa Fallon from FIFA is joined by Alberto Zaccheroni, Faryd Mondragon and Sunday Oliseh to break this game down. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
Louis van Gaal's Netherlands team has become the first to qualify for the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals after defeating the USA. Memphis Depay, Daley Blind and Denzel Dumfries were all on the scoresheet for the Dutch as they proved the more clinical team to put the USA to the sword. Netherlands had less possession and shots compared to their opponents, but as we've seen throughout this FIFA World Cup, control of the game isn't always reflected in those statistics. Joining Arne Barez, Chris Loxston and Elliott Stonell from FIFA to break it all down are Cha Du-Ri, Jürgen Klinsmann and Pascal Zuberbühler. First it was France earlier in the week and now Brazil have been shocked at the FIFA World Cup having qualified already, but losing their winning record on Matchday 3. Like the French, Brazil fielded a much-changed side for this clash, but that shouldn't take away from a passionate and determined performance from Cameroon. They matched Brazil and in stoppage time at the end of the game, got their reward thanks to Vincent Aboubakar. Unfortunately for Cameroon, results elsewhere mean they don't progress, but leave Qatar with a historic win. Breaking this one down are Mark Roberts, Harry Lowe and Chris Loxston from FIFA. They're joined by Alberto Zaccheroni, Sunday Oliseh and Faryd Mondragon. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
It was another high octane match to close out the group stages as Serbia and Switzerland went toe-to-toe in the effort to take second place behind Brazil. And after leading before being pegged back, then trailing only to lead again after two goals either side of the interval, Switzerland did enough to take the points and progress to the knockout rounds. Breaking this one down are Lisa Fallon and Elliott Stonell from FIFA. They're joined by Cha Du-Ri, Jürgen Klinsmann and Pascal Zuberbühler. Uruguay knew they needed to score one more than Korea Republic if the day ended with them winning their matches. Leading 2-0 with just minutes remaining, Uruguay were advancing into the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup as Korea Republic were locked in a 1-1 draw with Portugal. But when Korea struck late on to claim a 2-1 victory, it was for Uruguay to get another goal, but it eluded them and they crashed out. This was a game with plenty of spice after Uruguay had knocked Ghana out on penalties in 2010. And just as penalties proved a talking point then, so they did here as Andre Ayew missed a spot kick with the scores level at 0-0. Uruguay took control from that point, but their victory still wasn't enough to advance from Group H. Joing Mark Roberts, Chris Loxston and Harry Lowe from FIFA are Alberto Zaccheroni, Sunday Oliseh and Faryd Mondragon. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
We witnessed more incredible FIFA World Cup drama as Korea Republic took things right down to the final minutes of Group H. They trailed Portugal early on, but came back to level 1-1 before a stoppage time winner from Hwang Hee-Chan to send them in the knockout stages in Qatar. Cue the amazing scenes as Uruguay were winning 2-0 in their game against Ghana which meant they were headed through until the late Korean strike saw them finish second on goial difference. Joining Lisa Fallon and Elliott Stonell from FIFA are Jürgen Klinsmann, Pascal Zuberbühler and Cha Du-Ri. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
Germany may have finished their group stage on four points, joint with Spain, but it was Luis Enrique's side who progressed on account of their superior goal difference. This game ebbed and flowed and at one stage, being 2-1 ahead, it was Costa Rica who were progressing into the Last 16 ahead of Spain. But Germnay rallied and evenutally won the game 4-2, but it didn't prove enough and they leave Qatar ealy, repeating their FIFA World Cup woes from 2018. Arne Barez and Elliott Stonell from FIFA are on hand to discuss this game with Cha Du-Ri, Faryd Mondragon and Jürgen Klinsmann. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
In one of the shocks of the FIFA World Cup, Japan came from behidn to not only defeat Spain, but run out as Group E winners. Defeating the Spanish means Japan have now taken two major scalps in Qatar after their Matchday 1 victory over Germany. In an incredible game, the Japanese repeated that German success, coming back from 1-0 down at half-time to strike two quick goals and leave Spain in second place. Breaking this down is Mark Roberts, Harry Lowe and Chris Loxston from FIFA. They're joined by Alberto Zaccheroni, Sunday Oliseh and Pascal Zuberbühler. Belgium are now out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup following their goalless draw with Croatia, finishing third in Group F. Morocco have taken the top spot with defeated 2018 FIFA World Cup finalists Croatia going through as runners-up. It makes for a huge upset as the Belgians were expected to go deep into the competition again, but after reaching the semi-final in 2018, they are now on the plane home. Joining Mark Roberts, Harry Lowe and Chris Loxston from FIFA are Alberto Zaccheroni, Sunday Oliseh and Pascal Zuberbühler. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
Well, who would have predicted this at the start of the FIFA World Cup? In a group that included Croatia and world number two Belgium, Morocco have qualified for the Last 16 by finishing top. It's an incredible achievement and one rounded off with a dominant display against Canada. To break it all down in the car are Arne Barez and Elliott Stonell from FIFA. They're joined by Jürgen Klinsmann, Cha Du-Ri and Faryd Mondragon. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
After their Matchday 1 shock defeat to Saudi Arabia, Argentina have now won back-to-back matches at the FIFA World Cup, meaning they qualify for the Last 16 as winners of Group C. Poland had been top heading into this game, but were no match for Lionel Messi and his teammates. Fortunately for the Polish team, their superior goal difference meant they were able to edge out Mexico to take second spot in the group and advance. To break it all down are Arne Barez, Chris Loxston and Harry Lowe of FIFA. They're joined by Cha Du-Ri, Faryd Mondragon and Jürgen Klinsmann. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
What a game we witnessed between Saudi Arabia and Mexico as both teams knew a victory could have taken them through to the Last 16 provided Argentina overcame Poland. Well, Argentina did hold up thier end of the bargain, but unfortunately for Mexico, the winners of this match, they still went out of the FIFA World Cup on goal difference, meaning Poland advance. It was still an incredible moment for Mexico, who played with intensity and passion. Breaking it down are Mark Roberts and Elliott Stonell from FIFA. They're joined by Sunday Oliseh, Alberto Zaccheroni and Pascal Zuberbühler. For more information on the FIFA Training Centre, visit www.fifatrainingcentre.com…
Reigning world champions France suffered their first defeat at the 2022 FIFA World Cup after Dider Deschamps fielded a weakened team in the final Group D against Tunisia. But despite a victory, the Tunisians were unable to qualify for the next round as Australia pipped them to the post. Still, it proved a historic moment for the Tunisians as they went out on a high. Arne Barez, Harry Lowe and Chris Loxston from FIFA are joined by Cha Du-Ri, Faryd Mondragon and Jürgen Klinsmann to break this one down. Heading into the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Denmark had been earmarked as many pundits' dark horse to pull off a surprise in Qatar. Well, you've done that now, but it's by being eliminated from the group stages at the expense of Australia. The Socceroos progress into the Last 16 for the first time since 2006 after a full-blooded and passionate display that got them over the line thanks to Mathew Leckie. Breaking the game down with Mark Roberts and Elliott Stonell are Sunday Oliseh, Alberto Zaccheroni and Pascal Zuberbühler. Gareth Southgate's England made light work of their local rivals Wales, running out 3-0 winners thanks to a Marcus Rashford brace and Phil Foden strike.
