In today’s episode we talk to Robin Marchant, the Head of Marketing, APAC at Shopify.
Founded in 2006 in Ottawa, Shopify was originally known for it its web development platform, but has now branched out to offer payment processing, lending, shipping, and other services for businesses. The company’s app store now includes more than 5,000 apps and its platforms boast over 1.7m business across 175 countries as of May 2021.
In our conversation today we talk to Robin about the launch of GreenDropShip, Shopify’s grocery marketplace as well as the push into new service offerings. Robin also discusses the boom of direct-to-consumer brands who joined Shopify during 2020 and their latest partnership with social media giants, TikTok. We also hear about the Shopify Rebate from the Victorian Government and the effect this has on new and up-and-coming businesses. And finally, we discuss Shopify’s plans for the future.
