#15 Why I Don't Do Intensity In My Training and How I Choose To Keep Fit
Manage episode 400739477 series 3524816
I think a lot of women are put off doing exercise because they get the idea that it needs to be intense to have any benefit. — That it needs to be lifting super heavy weights, running ultra marathons, or spending hours in the gym. Not true!
There are soooo many benefits to moving gently but WISELY. Knowing how to train well — in ways that don’t lead to burnout or cause you to dread the whole thing — can be a game changer.
I warmly welcome you to a way of moving that may suit your mind and body a f**k load better 😋.
In this episode I speak about:
- how ‘fitness’ doesn’t need to be hard
- changing our wording to be less punishing
- the negative effects of intense training when stressed and/or tired
- things to watch out for in your postnatal body
- how I train differently since becoming a Mum
- finding enjoyment and PLEASURE in how you choose to move
- working with the breath in yoga and exercise
Themes: Fitness, Mental Health, Physical Health, Postnatal Exercise
At the end, I share a poem written by Safire Rose.
