Te Haunui is specialised in tā moko and portrait tattoos of Māori gods he’s interpreted. Te Haunui Tuna is a Tūhoe artist currently based in Tauranga. He’s spent his whole life honing his artistic skills exploring a myriad of disciplines. He spends most of his work time tattooing. He specialises in tā moko and portrait tattoos of Māori gods he’s interpreted. He is vegan and atheist, which isn’t a common combination you hear with a Māori moko artist. He’s inspired by people who put themselves out there and those who are always willing to learn. He remains a humble student of art and philosophy.
