Do you have to have tough conversations?
Yes, you absolutely do. As a leader, this is non-negotiable.
Why should you have them?
- Accountability,
- Connection,
- Support,
- Performance management
- Annual Performance Reviews
When should you have them?
As soon as possible after an incident or something happened. Once every 3-6 months, annual reviews once a year.
Otherwise, after onboarding:
- 3, 6 weeks
- 3, 6 months

How to prepare
Remember, when we're in a stressful situation, we either fight, flight or freeze. So, preparation is key!
What if things go pear-shaped?
Stop the meeting. Say I can see you are getting frustrated, I can see that we won’t agree today, before someone gets upset, let’s reconvene in 24 hours.
