As my regular listeners will know, most of my episodes are interview based. Well, this one’s going to be different. In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, I recently teamed up with acclaimed ergonomist and occupational therapist, Dr. Linda Miller from EWI Works to produce a video about how to work safely from home. So what I’m going to do for this episode is play the soundtrack from that video. If you would like a downloadable version of the video that you can distribute to your employees on your internal network, please reach out to me or Linda on LinkedIn. If you want us to customize the video with your logo or specific narration, we can talk about that. - marv ---------------------------- No Harm is the health and safety podcast for HSE professionals. On the last two episodes of my podcast, I brought you stories from the Big Block Turnaround at the Shell Deer Park refinery near Houston, Texas. I promised you more, so here we go. In episode 43 we’re going to get into some of the health topics that were being promoted at the turnaround. Every day for four weeks, the health team at Deer Park visited the various lunch tents to do presentations, have educational contests and give away fun prizes. There were four big topics … one for each week. There was heat and hydration, sleep and fatigue, nutrition, and finally, physical activity and exercise. I was really impressed to see first hand how the craft contractors at the turnaround reacted to these lunch events. They learned a lot and had a great time with the contests and prizes. - marv ------------------------------------- No Harm is the health and safety podcast for HSE professionals. When green buildings are designed, sometimes the design of the lighting does not take into account the ergonomic needs of employees who need to work on computer screens. Are you facing a window?
