Kerry Gross figured the best way to find stories of inspirational women would be to go meet them herself. So, she packed her panniers and set off to meet and interview women whose lives have inspired others. This was the start of a 5-month mostly bike-powered journey from California to Maine. The Women Who Dare podcast tells the story of Kerry's 5,700-mile ride and features her interviews with remarkable women.

Colette Chretien is the founder and principle designer at La Fille Colette, a boutique dress company based in Massachusetts. Driven initially by a desire to design dresses, Colette has developed La Fille Colette into a ethical, sustainable fashion company. Kerry makes it home to Maine in time to celebrate her friend's wedding. Then, she turns her attention to the final, northeastern leg of the Women Who Dare ride. Rebecca Goodale is a book artist and Art Department faculty member at the University of Southern Maine. She's been creating art ever since she sold her first book, My Chicken, to her mother at age 5. Her work can be seen in museums and libraries across the United States. Kerry found Rebecca at her home in Freeport, and they talked about making a life from art, working on collaborations, and being a feminist. Kerry makes her way from Pittsburgh to DC on the GAP trail and the C&O Canal Towpath. Riding trails rather than roads takes some adjustment, but it's well worth it in the end. Lora Woodward spent 10 years working for Venture Outdoors, helping Pittsburghers get outside.
