Episode 65 Part 2 - Jeremiah Johnson - The Wrap Up

A decade under the influence

Here is an episode that may be best listened to when it’s snowing, a lot.

There hasn’t been enough snow here in Portland for us to do it right, I just hope that didn’t effect our review.

Today we showcase (Jeremiah Johnson 1972). This was based off of Vardis Fishers novel Mountain men, which was based off the story Crow Killer by Raymond Thorp and Robert Bunker, with a screenplay by John Milius. Johnson was real, many of the people in this film were real, but who knows what was legend and what it was really like. This is one group of peoples cinematic interpretation. A lot of hard and creative was put into this by Director Sydney Pollack and crew, to make this look as rad as it does. I find myself drawn to many elements of it, and feel that this film has touched me in some ways that have helped me grow as an empathetic person. It makes me think though cause the more you go back in time it seems the more that people were just horrible to each other. Saying all of this unnecessary jazz also because a western is an odd choice considering my tastes, but still I heart Johnson, and the planet looks very pretty here.
