Arpe Asaturyan, the founder and president of Frontline Therapists, discusses how Frontline Therapists provides mental health services to the soldiers and civilians who were impacted by the Artsakh War of 2020 and Azerbaijan’s attack on Armenia on September 13, 2022. She talks about the most common mental health issues that veterans and their families, military personnel, medical personnel and the more than 100,000 civilians who are impacted by war are experiencing. Ms Asaturyan also discusses the need for better training and professional development for mental health professionals in Armenia. She also discusses the mental health education and outreach efforts that Frontline Therapists is conducting in Armenia.

Arpe Asaturyan is a licensed clinical social worker and licensed psychotherapist with over nine years of experience. She received her Masters in Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. She has a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University, Northridge. In 2017, she established a private practice that specializes in stress management, treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, post-partum disorders and serving the geriatric community.
