In this episode, I share how freelancing transformed my career and tripled my income. From starting out in a corporate job to managing multiple freelance clients, I’ll guide you through the steps I took and the lessons I learned to build a successful freelancing career. If you’re curious about freelancing or looking to boost your income, this episode is perfect for you.

Key Points:

What is Freelancing?

  • Freelancing is project-based work without long-term employment, offering flexibility and the ability to work with multiple clients simultaneously.

My Freelancing Journey:

  • 2008: Started learning about freelancing while working full-time at Docomo.

  • 2015: Left my corporate job and landed my first client, earning ₱12,000 per month.

  • 2017: Scaled up to three full-time and two part-time clients, tripling my income.

How I Tripled My Income:

  • Gain Experience: Took on part-time projects and side hustles to develop skills.

  • Scale Up: Applied for full-time VA roles once I felt confident in my abilities.

  • Balance: Managed multiple clients through deep work, and later hired assistants to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Tips for Long-Term Client Relationships:

  • Deliver consistently high-quality work.

  • Be proactive and offer help.

  • Stay motivated by focusing on your personal goals, such as maintaining a lifestyle outside corporate constraints.

Can You Freelance Even if You’re Not Fluent in English?

  • Yes! With patience and dedication, you can succeed in freelancing even if you’re not fluent in English.

I’ll be uploading a series of free training sessions next week that will cover the basics of freelancing, including how to get started, salary expectations, where to find clients, and more. If you’re thinking about diving into freelancing or want to learn more, make sure to tune in!

Thank you for listening!
