If you’ve watched or read the news lately, you’ve seen numerous strikes happening; most notably from the WGA (writers) and SAG-AFTRA (actors). In the show, we’ll talk about why the strikes are happening, what Hollywood is trying to accomplish, the specific strike rules, and what it means for movie-goers like us. But first, as always, we will start the show with our list of the top shows (and movie) that were impacted by the 2007 writers’ strike. Then, we’ll strike up a conversation about actors – and writers – pushing back against producers. With fears of their likeness being used via AI, as well as demanding fair compensation for the rising tide of streaming-service deals, actors are taking a stand. And while this stand (or strike) is warranted, it does have an impact on those who enjoy going to the movies or watching a show at home. Unlike the actors and writers, don’t miss the show! It’s a good one…
