In this episode of By Any Means Necessary, hosts Sean Blackmon and Jacquie Luqman are joined by Abayomi Azikiwe, the editor of the Pan-African News Wire to discuss an emerging political crisis in Gabon following the announcement by military officers that they have ousted President Ali Bongo and seized power, how this situation relates to the ongoing political crisis in Niger and how France may respond to the events in Gabon, and how the legacies of colonialism in Africa are beginning to bear consequences for France as its former colonies continue to demonstrate anti-French sentiments.

In the second segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Dr. Adrienne Pine, retired Associate Professor of Anthropology at American University and co-editor of the book Asylum for Sale: Profit and Protest in the Migration Industry to discuss mobilizations in Honduras in response to alleged right-wing attempts to destabilize the government of Xiomara Castro, how opposition forces in Honduras have presented a political crisis and how this crisis is different from the 2009 coup against former President Manuel Zelaya, and why members of the US Congress are supporting these efforts by the opposition.

In the third segment, Sean and Jacquie feature an interview with late Black Panther Marshall Eddie Conway about the life and legacy of Black Panther Party chairman Fred Hampton and what meaning his work continues to have for activists during and beyond Black August.

Later in the show, Sean and Jacquie discuss the recently released documentary “BS High” which documents the story behind the Bishop Sycamore football program which falsely called itself a school and the abuse that many players were subject to, the fiftieth anniversary of Hip-Hop and how the genre has evolved to encompass styles from areas of the US outside of New York, and the Biden re-election campaign’s latest reported attempt to garner support from Black voters.
