Manage episode 317164235 series 3302016
Our bilingual audio tour explores less well-known stories from the collection, in the voices of the Museum’s volunteers, historians, vehicle experts and more.
Transcript:
Hello, and welcome to the Canadian Automotive Museum, home of the world’s most significant collection of Canadian cars. My name is Alexander Gates and I am the Executive Director and Curator here. This audio tour was developed with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Fund and is designed to compliment the interpretive panels available next to each vehicle on display.
Over the next 30 minutes, you’ll hear some of our favourite stories behind the collection, told by our volunteers and community partners. You’ll hear about previous owners of the cars, the people who built them, and what it’s like to maintain and drive antique vehicles in the 21st century.
You can proceed through the tour in any order, though we recommend starting with the Introduction to the Building and then moving in chronological order; if you’d like more detail, or have questions, don’t hesitate to consult the display panels associated with each vehicle, or with Museum staff and volunteers. Enjoy your tour, and thank you for visiting today!
