ABOUT THIS EPISODE

A brilliant mechaneches, Rebbetzin Bruria David a”h was the founder and dean of Beth Jacob Jerusalem, commonly known as BJJ, a prestigious girls seminary located in Yerushalayim. The Rebbetzin was a woman of unique caliber, possessing a deep understanding of people and a remarkable breadth of knowledge in Torah and history.

Born in 1938, she was the only child of Hagaon Rav Yitzchak Hutner, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin, and the wife of Hagaon Rav Yonasan David, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Pachad Yitzchok in Yerushalayim’s Har Nof neighborhood.

Mrs. Miriam Gettinger (Wein) was in the first full year of BJJ from 1973 to 1974. She has been a principal for nearly 40 years, currently at the Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis and previously at the South Bend Hebrew Day School, as well as at the helm of Bais Yaakov High School of Indiana.

Dr. Sara Nagel (Tenenbaum) attended BJJ from 1990-1991. She is an audiologist in private practice in Houston, Texas. Dr. Nagel moved to Houston together with her husband Rabbi Yakov Nagel 25 years ago as founding member of the Houston Kollel and have played an integral role in its development as a makom Torah.

Mrs. Rivi Rotenberg (Geldwerth) attended BJJ from 2007-2008. Trained as an Occupational Therapist, Mrs. Rotenberg currently manages an ABA therapy firm and teaches part time in the local BY high School Her husband, Rabbi Akiva Rotenberg is the Manahel of the Mesivta of Houston.

In addition, he has written on chinuch topics for national publications, educational journals, and has presented multiple workshops. He is the founding director of the Yeshiva Leadership Group which provides networking and growth opportunities to Yeshiva school leadership.
