Episode 1: Brady Black
Manage episode 458285614 series 3629151
In Creative Narratives' first episode, we chat with Seattle-based artist Brady Black about his street art style and how it's evolved from his life in Beirut, Lebanon to his current home in the Pacific Northwest. He shares vivid memories about his Beirut portraits, talks about his creative roots, his artistic aspirations and the many ways his art has reflected and empowered his surrounding communities.
You can find Brady's art on several street surfaces around Seattle, including the pillars that support the downtown Monorail, a community project he led and where he met co-host Valeria Ortiz. Brady collaborated on a large mural with Myron Curry located on 3rd Ave and Bell Street during the 2024 Belltown Mural Festival just 2 blocks away from the mural of co-host Nalisha Estrellas on 1st Ave and Blanchard Street.
