In this Episode, I interview Podcaster Kristina Driscoll, who as CEO of the "She's brave" Podcast, propelled it to the top 2 percent of all podcasts worldwide in less than six months.
In Episode 2, we dive deeper into Kristina's journey as she shares about her experience of launching and growing her podcast. Find practical tips for success in podcasting or entrepreneurship in general. She also emphasizes the importance of authenticity and overcoming imposter syndrome in the podcasting journey.
Takeaways:
1. One key to a top 2% globally successful podcast or any business is making connections. We are not meant to do this alone.
2. There is no competition. Think collaboration and being visible is being generous!
3. Be generous with your message! Someone needs what you know!
4. That is love. To want to help as many people as possible.
5. When you are worried of what other people think of you, you dim your light.
6. When you are honest with yourself and live authentically, you are happier and have no regret. You live the life that was meant for you.
7. When you are honest with yourself and others, can you develop true meaningful friendships
8. People come and go in your life. Stay the course!
9. Experiencing different opinions is ok. It actually helps you determine more accurately what you truly want in life: that was not for me or oh I really loved this! See opposition as an ally.
10. Do not be afraid to stand out and not be agreeable all the time. It doesn’t mean you are mean. It just means that your voice matters!
11. To find your voice, try and start writing everyday for 10-15 minutes, you never know where that could lead to!
12. If you feel of restless or unhappy about the way your life is right now, try doing something new. This may lead to opportunities you never knew existed and help you find peace again.
13. You may have ideas of what you would like to do next, try identifying the one thing that gives you the most joy and feels exciting. This may be a clue of where your next step is!
14. Like any business, podcasting is about helping and serving others! Learn to LISTEN to what your audience’s needs are!
15. It’s ok to say no to opportunities that are not aligned with your values and your message.
16. Like in all things, keep an open mind. Do not close yourself to an opportunity that may be what you audience/client base is interested in. Sometimes, you never know until you try!
17. Always keep your listeners/client base in mind! Podcasting like any business is a service!
18. Trust your intuition into what your next best step is and keep going. Stop comparing yourself.
19. Stay off social media for a while if you need to. Do whatever it takes to find your voice again without all the noise and the distractions.
20. Don’t pay much attention to the imposter syndrome! Keep your light bright!
21. If you had one message to tell the world, what would it be? Then, how could you get that message out?
22. You don’t need to impress anyone or start at the top. Start where you are and be authentic.
23. Your “imperfections” make you more relatable and that is attractive!
24. People long for true authentic connections which require us being vulnerable. Perfection does not let people in!
