This week, I have the opportunity to speak to someone who has shaped my life in so many ways...my mom. We sit down to have a candid conversation about how we both ended long term relationships. Our journeys have mirrored each other and we talked about what the cost of loyalty and how that has affected us.
My mom opens up about her life from raising 7 kids to finally deciding to choose herself without fear of judgement or persecution. She traces her trajectory to a visit with a doctor that "changed her life".
The conversation definitely has me reflective on the life changes I made and with the wise words of my mom, I am finally beginning to put me first.
