In this episode, we discuss the issues that parents with a special needs child face as they move through a divorce. Our special guest is Dina De Giorgio, a family law attorney specializing in helping families with special needs children divorce in a kind and better way.
Dina De Giorgio is a Divorce Attorney and Mediator practicing in her own boutique law firm for 27 years. Dina leverages her extensive legal expertise, litigation experience and mediation training to help identify the bottlenecks that prevent clients from reaching agreements , crafts innovative approaches and solutions to resolve disputes without the cost, time, and emotional toll of lengthy divorce litigation.
Dina is a member of the Matrimonial and Family Law Committees of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, and the National Association of Divorce Professionals (NADP). Dina is one of the co-directors for the NADP’s Special Needs Chapter.
Dina serves on the Executive Board of The Nicholas Center located in Port Washington, New York.
The Nicholas Center welcomes over 120 participants who on are on the Autism Spectrum each year on Long Island and Westchester to learn critical life skills, improve their social and communication abilities, gain meaningful vocational training, and engage in community projects, including feeding the homeless and beautifying their neighborhoods.
