Part 2! In this special show, which is a two-parter, Dan Wimbush and Aaron Glew discuss the impacts of FIFA and gaming addiction. They explore the role of dopamine and the happy chemicals in the brain, as well as how FIFA triggers the release of dopamine. They discuss the design and rewards of FIFA that contribute to addiction and the difference between enjoying the game and addiction. They also share their personal experiences and lessons learned from taking a step back from the game. The conversation concludes with practical steps to identify and address unhealthy gaming habits. In this conversation, Aaron and Dan discuss the emotional roller coaster of gaming, the challenges of skill-based matchmaking, the importance of objectives and co-op play, taking breaks and detoxing, finding balance and positive habits, the pleasure-pain balance in gaming, setting limits and reducing overconsumption, the coin flip technique for pack opening, and continuing the journey and seeking support.
