On occasion you get to meet the people who you look up to and that you consider a mentor. And if you are lucky, that person becomes a friend as well. My guest today is none other than Kim Garst, an icon in the social media industry.

I met Kim a couple of years ago at an event called Social Media Day Denver. We had a chance to reconnect at that event this year. Most of the people listening to this podcast are probably already familiar with Kim, but here is a short background.

Kim Garst is a small town southern gal who discovered a big world. She is an international best selling author, international keynote speaker, one of the world’s most retweeted people among digital marketers and a highly sought after marketing strategist.

Kim is also internationally recognized as a thought leader in the social media space. Forbes named her as one of the Top 10 Social Media Power Influencers. She has provided social and digital marketing advice to some of the world’s top brands like Microsoft, IBM, and Mastercard as well and hundreds of influential business leaders on digital and social media business strategies.

What she enjoys most is helping ordinary people discover their unique “possibles” so that they can build extra-ordinary businesses that helps them live the life of their dreams.

In today’s episode we talk specifically about using Facebook Groups to create community. this is an ideal way to connect with your customers. You won’t want to miss the great advice Kim shares with us.
