S1E16 - Angela Sylvaine
Manage episode 386985726 series 3473450
Scotty and author Angela Sylvaine talk about her new YA horror novel "Frost Bite," misconceptions about YA and what it means to write YA in the current moment. They also talk about Angela's early days in the snowy reaches of North Dakota, and how the pressure to be "Midwestern nice" steered her toward horror. They discuss the inspiration that came from 1980s monster movies...and happily discover that "C.H.U.D." (1984) is actually a much better movie than either of them remembered.
