Ah, Dogecoin.
Love it or hate it, it's the OG memecoin.
But can it ever be more than a meme? The Dogecoin community is notoriously committed, and anytime there are that many people bought into one vision, the network effects alone mean that if it can be monetised, there could be something very valuable here.
Of course, that's the big question - could there be a utility here? Or is it just a silly joke?
Dan chats with Roc Zacharias, core contributor at Dogechain, as they aim to bridge over Dogecoin to bring crypto applications like NFTs, games, and DeFi to the DOGE community.
The numbers are already pretty staggering - over five days prior to the episode, there were 580,000 wallets created and 480,000 transactions made, while $4.6 million is locked in Dogechain projects.
