Text In Above Podcast :
Biology constitutes about 50% of the NEET exam. It is the most scoring and least time consuming section of the exam. A NEET aspirant should properly know the syllabus of the exam before starting preparation. So first of all go through the syllabus and make a study plan.
NCERT books are a must for Neet biology preparation.
Approximately 68-70 questions in the exam are directly or indirectly asked from the NCERT. Read every word written in the NCERT textbooks be it the introduction, summary, the extra information boxes, applications, intext question, diagrams (labels and description also), practice exercise and even the back exercise. Don’t leave any page unturned or unread. Never skip a topic from the NCERT thinking it is not important. You never know what is going to come in the exam.
Another 10-15 questions are from the previous year papers. So solve the past 12-15 years papers during your preparation if you want to get these questions correct with 100% accuracy.
The last 3-5 questions are the advance level questions. These questions require you to apply the knowledge that you have acquired by studying this subject.
Don’t go on studying from many different study materials. Too much material will only help in muddling the concepts in your brain. Read those topics from reference books which are not included in the NCERT, preferably Truman's elementary or Arihant or any other book which you are following along with NCERT.
Revise the NCERT well. While reading a page ask yourself what type of a question can be asked from this topic and make a list of them. Revise through these questions, short notes and mind maps for your last minute preparation. Revise regularly for proper retention of the information.
Practice through NCERT based tests and Topic wise tests. Practice through NTA mock tests and analyze your mistakes in these mock tests as similar questions are likely to come in the exam. Attempt previous year papers and mock tests to improve your speed of answering questions. Analyze your performance after giving a test to understand your strengths and weaknesses and work on such topics.
Remember biology is to be understood and not mugged up. Try to understand the concepts deeply and practice daily.
