In this episode, Christine and Kristine discuss what are Guardianships and Conservatorships, what are the limits to these, how far the Courts can go, and how we can take protective measures to avoid being in one without our consent. To support this theme, they will discuss Netflix's movie I Care A Lot, starring Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, 2014) in which her character Marla, is a professional court-appointed guardian in Massachusetts, who deceits the court to scam elderly people by becoming their legal guardian, she then seizes their assets by placing them in nursing homes. They will also cover the Britney Spears Conservatorship case which has garnered a lot of attention thanks to the #FreeBritney movement. They'll discuss the legality of her guardianship, how things could have been done differently, and what is the outcome they think we can expect.
