The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the New York Knicks 111-99 Tuesday night. The game marked the season debut for Joel Embiid. The big man played 26 minutes and scored 13 points on 2-of-11 shooting, but was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line.

The Sixers battled the Knicks throughout the night and even took a 61-60 lead early in the third quarter, but were unable to go on a run after that to hold the slim advantage.

The loss drops Philadelphia to 2-8 on the young season.
