Lack of Pressure: The Baylor pass rush failed to generate consistent pressure on Nussmeier, allowing him ample time to survey the field and make accurate throws.

Missed Tackles: Missed tackles by Baylor defenders proved costly, allowing LSU to extend drives and rack up big plays. While the Baylor offense showed promise, the defensive struggles ultimately proved to be the difference in the game.

So maybe Brian Kelly was right.
