The LSU Tigers hit the field at Tiger Stadium Saturday afternoon for the third spring game of the Brian Kelly era. While spring games are much less of an actual game and much more of a glorified practice, it is still a good opportunity to see the progress of position battles and with which teams certain individuals play. There are several battles shaking out in preseason, whether the secondary or the wide receiver room. Another battle that has ensued during spring practice and will continue to shake out throughout the rest of the summer is the backup quarterback – who will be QB2 behind Garrett Nussmeier? Both Vanderbilt transfer AJ Swann and second-year Rickie Collins got rotations with the second team offense, first Swann then Collins. But did either emerge as a favorite?
