The Miami Marlins finally unpacked the lumber in Oakland, unloading on the A's 12-3 and ending their six-game winning streak.

Nick Gordon had four hits, breaking a 1-for-21 funk with his first home run in three weeks, a single and a double. Josh Bell added two RBI singles, and Jonah Bride had two RBI's to help the Marlins snap their two-game losing streak, win for the fourth time in six games, and avoid the series sweep.

The Marlins cranked out 14 hits and had eight players drive in one run.

Brent Rooker had two hits and two runs scored for Oakland.

Burch Smith (2-0) pitched scoreless inning to back up starter Sixto Sánchez, who went four innings, giving up two runs on three hits.

The Marlins head down to LA to play the Dodgers in the first of a four-game series on Monday. Roddery Muñoz, 1-0, will pitch for Miami. The electric Muñoz is tied for the second-most K's in franchise history by a pitcher in his first two starts in one season.
