On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Florida Panthers Historian Francisco Oporta(@fjojr and @FlaCatsHistory) to the show to break down the Panthers' 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers. The performance from Thursday night felt very reminiscent to their series in the Eastern Conference Final back in May, as the Panthers controlled play, even getting the first goal of the game 44 seconds in. Florida responded less than two minutes later with Carter Verhaeghe getting his first of the season. New York responded just a few minutes later, but that was about it as all four line were able to roll, Sergei Bobrovsky was steady in his net, making a multitude of incredible saves on the penalty kill on Chris Kreider and Vincent Trocheck, and Florida was able to exit their zone cleanly on the night. With the win, Bobrovsky got win number 400 for his career, doing it in just over 700 games played, where the team sang his praises postgame on how he constantly stays ready.
