In this episode, we talk about:

Motherhood comes with many layers that we have to journey through.

It’s ok to grieve who you were before becoming a mother.

Don’t focus on what your body looks like, focus on loving it for all that it has done for you and having positive self-talk.

Motherhood is such a deep experience filled with joy, grief, love, and learning! Today we talk with a dear friend, Mel Wells. She shares her journey into motherhood and how that has changed who she is now. We talk about how the grief of losing who we were before motherhood is a normal transition to experience. We discuss her son’s stay in the NICU, how she coped with that and how that affects the way she shows up as a mother today. Mel shares with us how she overcame an eating disorder and learned to love her body before becoming a mom and how that played such a positive role in her journey. We also talk about how social media, and other people's expectations take a toll on us. Let’s be more kind and accepting of each other as mother’s by creating a safe space for bonding and support. We are all just doing the next best we can. Join us for a real, raw discussion about some of the most sensitive topics in motherhood.

02:50 Mel’s journey into entrepreneurship is connected to her journey of becoming a mother.

05:30 How did Mel’s healing journey spark her desire to become a coach?

08:20 Your relationship with yourself and your body are more important after birth than looks.

12:00 Mel’s traumatic birth story and how she overcame it.

17:30 How has this experience changed the way she thought things would be?

23:00 Trust yourself mamma, you are doing the best you can!
