At least two people were killed and more than 60 others injured when a car plowed into a busy Christmas market in Magdeburg, eastern Germany, in what appears to have been a deliberate attack. Authorities arrested the suspected driver, who they say is a 50-year-old Saudi Arabian man who first arrived in Germany in 2006.
With just hours left before a potential midnight government shutdown, the House of Representatives passed this year’s final funding plan to keep the government open. The bill has been sent to the Senate. This comes after previous attempts to pass similar proposals in the lower chamber had failed.
