Tisha kicked out the guys for our Women’s History Month panel and the ladies chop it up on this one! The panel, hosted by Tisha, includes ABE2 Marina Griffin, YN1 Ashlie Beaver, LCDR Emily Curran, YNCS Ashley Williams, and LS1 Stephanie Confer. They discuss the importance of having female representation in male-dominated fields. Ashlie Beaver talked about the challenges of being one of the boys while staying true to her femininity. Marina discussed being a "cold Princess Warrior.” Stephanie expressed her frustration with the constant uniform changes. Ashley emphasized the significance of morale and how small things, such as nail color, can boost it. The women also talked about how men often rely on women to correct uniform issues. Tisha shared an instance where the Uniform Matters Officer criticized her Sailor's ponytail. Stephanie talked about being ostracized by the mean girls. Emily, who is married to an LCDR, feels that he automatically gets respect while she has to earn it. The ladies discussed the challenges of balancing family and career while debunking the myth that female leaders are tougher.
