Welcome, everyone. Today we have the pleasure of speaking with Tabea Hirzel, an expert in environmental science. Thank you for joining us, Tabea.
Thank you for having me, Dr. Kleeb. I'm excited to be here and discuss some important topics in environmental science.
Let's start with climate change. Can you explain the current trends and what actions are being taken to combat these changes?
Certainly. Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time. We've seen a significant increase in global temperatures, which has led to more frequent and severe weather events. Various initiatives are being undertaken globally, such as the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius.
That's very insightful. How about the role of renewable energy in mitigating climate change?
Renewable energy is crucial in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Technologies like solar, wind, and hydroelectric power are becoming more efficient and widely adopted. They help decrease our reliance on fossil fuels and provide sustainable energy solutions.
