With this in mind, aligning a Digital Strategy with your companies overall business vision and goals is now critical. It is not enough in this market to have a marketing team that "handles digital"?. For businesses to truly succeed in the digital age there needs to be buy in and engagement from the top down. Even if that means reverse mentoring and our in house digital experts drag, coach, educate and empower business leaders to factor the digital environment into their overarching strategy as well as developing a digital strategy that aligns with the company goals and vision. Having top down buy in and engagement fosters clean simple approaches to digital with clear messaging and also holds marketing teams accountable for common sense concise reporting that speaks the company language not the nonsensical digital acronyms that for the past decade have taken the focus away from what really matters to justify "performance". When I work with clients I have a strategy first philosophy as without a clear strategy all you are able to do is measure campaign performance in standalone isolation.
