Monday—What does it mean that David was a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14)? Why is David calling God his shepherd, the highest compliment he can give?

Tuesday—How is Psalm 23 connected to Psalm 22? Why is Psalm 23 the perfect psalm to follow Psalm 22? Look especially at Psalm 22:1 and Psalm 23:4.

Wednesday—In what ways does David borrow imagery from Israel’s wandering in the wilderness? Does this mean he is in an actual wilderness? What does David’s use of this imagery teach us about how we might employ those same lessons in our lives?

Thursday—What does Jesus mean when he says that he is the Good Shepherd (John 10:11-18)? Do you think he has Psalm 23 in mind when he said that? Why or why not?

Friday—What does it mean that God is with you in the midst of trials and afflictions (v. 4)? Does this mean that you will have no problems? Is where does it teach you to set your hope (v. 6)?
