#20 Defining Your "Why" is Vital to Decision Making

When the World Cup is here!
I love when this event comes around every 4th year.
But a few years ago the world cup has been tainted as the host country, Qatar has been blasted in the press for human rights issues. FIFA (soccer's global governing organization) has been taking heat for choosing Qatar as the host. This is a perception problem, and therefore a branding problem.
Many feel that FIFA is here to ensure that the cup is played in a country that complies with certain cultural standards. If you look at FIFA's website, you'll see that its mission is to promote the sport all over the world and make it accessible to all.
With this in mind, I would argue that FIFA's decision to host the cup in Qatar is in accordance with its "why." Let the record show, I do not agree with this decision. But I see why it was made—for money to promote the sport around the globe.
These same rules about "why-finding" apply to you. Having a clear why is vital to help you organize your decision-making, giving you more clarity and confidence to move forward.
