Alleviating Addiction Barriers
Manage episode 394613791 series 3359164
In February 2017, Jill Zebrowski Cichowicz’s twin brother died from Fentanyl poisoning. To help manage her grief, and as a way to bring something positive out of her family’s devastation, Jill created the Scott Zebrowski Scholarship Fund in partnership with the The McShin Foundation, a Richmond based addiction treatment center.
In both 2019 and 2020 “A Night For Scott” was voted The Best Charity Event in Richmond and first runner-up in 2021 and 2022; each raising awareness and thousands of dollars. Jill has continued her advocacy by speaking nationally about addiction and its impact on individuals, families and communities and starting 2 End The Stigma as a way to further her outreach into the community.
2 End The Stigma alleviates barriers to getting help for addiction and they work tirelessly to educate about addiction recovery and connect individuals and families to resources and community programming that will help them overcome the barriers to receiving help.
Listen in as Jill Cichowicz and host Jess Ellett discuss the many things this incredible organization is doing for our community.
