Dr. Rhonda Windham is featured in the HBO Sports Documentary, Women of Troy, which explores the transcendent career of the Cheryl Miller-led USC Trojans and their impact on women’s basketball.

Windham was the first ever general manager for the Los Angeles Sparks from 1997 to 1999. Before joining the Sparks, Windham played basketball at the University of Southern California between 1983 and 1987. With USC, Windham scored 1,040 points and was the assists leader for each season except for 1984. During her last year in college, Windham played at the 1987 Summer Universiade and received the 1987 Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award.

The Women of Troy arrived to the University of Southern California as Title IX’s influence in women’s sports first emerged. Their ability to overcome adversity on and off the court propelled them into national prominence, winning two national titles and becoming the first women’s collegiate team to visit the Ronald Reagan White House.

Windham played with all-time USC greats Cheryl Miller, Cynthia Cooper, Paula and Pam McGee, Juliette Robinson, Rhonda Windham and USC head coach Linda Sharp. It also highlights the Trojans’ showdown with Louisiana Tech at the 1983 national championship and how this pivotal moment in sports history impacted their lives as well as future generations.

The Trojans won back to back NCAA championships in 1983 and 1984 and played in the title game three times in the 80s. USC was led by all-time great players like Cheryl Miller and Cynthia Cooper-Dyke and also had key role players like twins Pamela and Paula McGee and Rhonda Windham.

Today, Dr. Rhonda Windham is a clinical occupational therapist who works for a non-profit mental health agency in Torrance, CA. She graduated from USC with her BA, MA and Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
