There’s Nothing You Can’t Achieve with Megs Crawford | E12
Manage episode 401114713 series 3544904
In this episode, I chat with Megs Crawford, one of my cherished pod sisters. Megs is an entrepreneur with a professional organizing business, the host of The Mindful Megs Podcast: Organizing an ADHD Brain, a mom to two little girls, a wife of 7 years, and a spectacular singer! We talk about how our jobs were our whole identities when we were in a corporate environment, and how our lives have changed so much for the better being on the other side of the corporate environment. We talk about how doing what we ‘should do’ basically sucks, how it’s never too late to change, how beneficial it is to be in a constant growth mindset, that it’s ok to dabble in lots of things, and how when believe in yourself and talk to yourself in a way that helps you grow and thrive, there’s nothing you can’t achieve. We both very much believe in talking to yourself in a loving, positive way, and that if we all practiced doing this, we live in a much better and happier world.
Take Aways
1. The universe helps us in ways that don’t seem to make sense at the time because it knows a better path for us
2. It’s ok to want & need recognition from other people
3. Just because you are a certain way at one point in your life doesn’t mean you have to be that way for the rest of your life
4. If you believe in yourself & talk to yourself in a way that helps you grow & thrive, there’s nothing you can’t achieve
5. Be in a constant growth mindset. Constant change & evolution are really what we’re here for
6. Sometimes it takes dabbling in lots of different things to figure out what you want to do, & maybe it's not only one thing
7. Listening to our parents or others about what we “should do” or what we should go to college for, rather than what we want and what feels good in our hearts, will almost always result in unhappiness
8. Discovering yourself again & again is exciting & teaches your kids anything is possible
9. Break things up into small steps to take each day to get where you want to be. They turn into big changes
10. Practice talking to yourself in a loving, positive way. Imagine what kind of love could be put out into the world if everyone loved themselves Positive self-talk MATTERS
11. Just because somebody is already doing something out in the world, doesn’t mean we can’t, or shouldn’t. Let that help you grow instead of letting them take you down
12. A daily gratitude journal or appreciation practice in the morning is a game changer & is so powerful. It’s proven that if you focus on positive things you train your brain to continue to look for the positive
13. The work is in the commitment to the daily practices
