Partha Sinha is the President of the Times of India Group, one of the most influential media groups of India. He’s a seasoned leader with proven track record in the brand, media, digital and communication space. Ex Citibanker, ex VP Strategy Ogilvy, ex marketing chief Zee Telefilms, ex head of strategy SE Asia for Publicis, ex Managing Partner BBH, ex MD and Vice Chairman, McCann WordGroup. In 2020, I asked Partha to connect me to a few people for my podcast. He connected me to one of India’s top directors, Shoojit Sircar. The podcast with Shoojit turned into ongoing chat over the next two years. When Shoojit first talked about making a movie on me, I thought this was the biggest prank Partha had played on me. It was the connection from him that set the ball rolling for the movie, I Want To Talk. I was very excited that Partha and his wife Chaitali were the first to see the movie outside of the core group. In this podcast, Partha, a brilliant mind who guided the conversation so effortlessly into the depth of the heart, but never making it too serious. Thank you Partha for being you, always. Here are some key insights from this week’s show: Life is never over till it is over. “I Want to Talk” is a story of crossing one hurdle at a time. You play differently when you know you are going to win the game. The screen Arjun had the advantage of knowing that he will make it in the end. Sometimes bad ideas can trigger amazing ideas. Talking comes with responsibility. Words once spoken, are out there forever. If we give up, we will never know what life can bring for us. Pearle is a very talented young actor who played the role of Baby Reya in the movie ‘ I Want To Talk ’. It was fascinating to see young Pearle be at the center of the movie for the first hour, charming us with her presence and one liners. This amazing kid, who we all called ‘the real boss’ during filming, made the journey of making the movie unforgettable. Here are some key insights from this week’s show: I felt very shy when I met the director Shoojit Sircar for the first time. I just like to act, I don't like seeing myself on the screen. Once I saw the movie, I felt nervous and happy, but also scared and excited. This movie is very meaningful. It says, “Keep fighting! Never give up!” I am happy when someone cracks a good joke. He is known for 3 Idiots (2009), Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008) and Ru-Ba-Ru (2008) among others. Our path crossed during his most recent work was in the critically acclaimed movie by Shoojit Sircar, I Want to Talk, as Dr. Deb. It was an interesting conversation with the person who saw the character ‘Arjun Sen’ in the movie from up close. His reflections and questions after living the movie were simply fascinating. Here are some key insights from this week’s show: Playing a cynical, yet sympathetic character was an experiment for me. I got a learning on human behavior by doing this film. If you’ve got your eye on the ball, you really can’t go wrong. When we get out of our own way, we get on much better in life. When I first met Ahilya Bamroo in the sets of the movie, I was trying to find my daughter in her. Very soon I realized why Shoojit Sircar chose her to play the role of Reya in the movie I Want to Talk. It was fascinating to see how she processed the evolving relationship with her on-screen dad, who was going through every possible life challenge, while holding on to her unique personality. When I sat down with her for this conversation, I really wished my daughter Raka was there in the conversation too. It would have been fascinating to see Raka and Reya talk. Here is my conversation with my movie daughter Ahilya. I am excited to see her career evolve and blossom in her journey ahead.…

Abhishek Bachchan's first podcast ever! When the movie, I Want to Talk was being filmed in Hemet California, I always wanted to ask Abhishek Bachchan (the Movie Arjun) how he felt being Arjun. As I got to know him, I was more intrigued by his level of professionalism and dedication. The filming ended and we never got a chance to have that Arjun to Arjun conversation. In my healing journey, I had marked 100 days, 1,000 days, 5,000 days and 10,000 days. The 10,000th day was February 5th, 2024. That night I was up all night. As I browsing the net, I realized February 5th was Abhishek’s birthday. I reached out to him to wish him a happy birthday and both of us realized it was destiny that our paths crossed. Now, just before the launch of the movie we finally had the Arjun to Arjun conversation. It was simply from his heart. So here it is. Please do not miss the end of the conversation when Abhishek shared his wish for me. All I can say is that his words left me speechless.
