On today's episode, Stephen & Carsten take a look back at the films of the late Sidney Poitier, who led the way in changing Hollywood's approach to Black representation in films, and portrayed a series of memorable characters defined by their strength, their integrity and their defiance through the 1950s and '60s and beyond. Carsten and Stephen look at some of Poitier's best-known films, and others worth rediscovering, from acknowledged classics like The Defiant Ones and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? to gripping thrillers like The Bedford Incident and The Wilby Conspiracy, as well as Poitier's turns in the director's chair in Buck & the Preacher and A Warm December.
